The coin board symbols each represent a positive or negative value in our class. Every day students get coins or goombas added to their names and avatars on the coin board. Students can get coins by getting three checks next to their name on the board in the front of the class. Students can get a check next to their name by:

  • being ready when class starts
  • answering questions in class
  • reading in class
  • being kind and helping their classmates

They get a goomba, a negative point, by getting three "X"s next to their name on the white board. Students can get an "X" by:

  • choosing not to follow the class rules
  • not doing homework
  • saying something in the special X-Box on the board

At the end of each semester, students use these coins to buy toys and class supplies in an auction. There are many different things for sale in the auction.
